VERTICAL SPRING CHECK VALVES vs. SWING CHECK VALVES

Check valves (or “backflow preventers”, “one way valves” etc) are common in the plumbing of all water pumps, including solar. Talk to a Solar Pump Specialist if you’re unsure of how they can be used on your install. Generally we use a check valve with longer runs of pipe to prevent significant drainback, as well as circumstances we are building pressure and need to prevent our system from losing pressurization when the pump is powered off.
