Hey I’m Mynor an RPS Solar Pump Engineer
Biggest impact a solar pump has made on a customer’s life
I enjoy working with the livestock ranchers who have a well but no electricity. A solar pump ends up being a game changer for the rancher, who now gets to move their animals into a different pasture that doesn’t have electricity at all. Without the solar system that land would go to waste!
What’s so special about working at RPS Solar Pumps?
Being able to directly affect peoples lives in a positive manner. I get to help them out for systems in remote locations, in some places they’re living off-grid in a cabin. Once the pump is set up, they have running water and can finally take a shower.
Favorite customer story?
The customer was installing an RPS 800 in Texas and had a bunch if other well installers there watching and helping out with the system. None of the installers were familiar with a solar pump. They were having some trouble getting the system installed. The other installers were commenting that the pump was too small, or that solar won’t work or the pump wouldn’t get water to the top of the well. Turns out, that the original pump had suffered some shipping damage (UPS likes to sometimes drop our boxes). RPS took care of the exchange but after we exchanged the pump for a brand new one, the customer was still having trouble setting it up. I helped them out, and figured that the pump wires were crossed. I told them to swap pump wire locations, and once they did they got water and were running perfect. The customer was happy to prove the other installers wrong and show that solar can do the job, solar can absolutely pump water!
