Wind Power + RPS Solar Pumps
If you’re thinking about a hybrid wind/solar pump system, the above diagram shows you how such a set up would be possible with an RPS Solar Pump. We don’t carry wind turbines or wind specific charge controllers, that part is completely the customer to research and purchase. The diagram depicts a 48V battery bank, a 24V battery bank is also possible (depending on your system specs and needs one may work better than the other, call our specialists for project specific questions). Our charge controller manages power flow into the batteries from solar as well as pulling power over to the pump, ensuring that your batteries aren’t over charged or over discharged.

48V Compatible Systems
Wondering how many hours a 24V or 48V battery bank will support a pump powered by solar alone? We haven’t done the calculations for when wind is added, that’s pretty dependent on your regions wind, but safe to say at least a couple more hours! Battery Selection Table (Solar Only)
System | Battery Bank | Estimated Run-time per Set* |
RPS200 | 24V Battery Bank | 3-6 hours |
RPS400 | 24V or 48V Battery Bank** | 3-5 hours |
RPS800 | 48V Battery Bank | 3-5 hours |
TPP750 | 24V Battery Bank | 1-2 hours |
*Estimated run time depends on exact pumping head and volume.
**For RPS400’s operating towards maximum pump capability, use 48V battery bank.
